Hard times have arrived for men – especially those who are young, good-looking, job-hunting, and named Michal.
In this sharp contemporary comedy, German playwright Maja Zade turns the world upside down. Women hold the power, and men become the objects of desire and discrimination, both at work and at home.
One Michal is bullied by his boss. Another faces sexual harassment from his supervisor at a drugstore. A third, working in a theatre, becomes the target of his artistic director’s advances. Through a series of comic yet unsettling situations, we follow three men named Michal in a world where the word “man” seems to disappear and women have the final say. This role reversal exposes the unequal power structures of our society.
